One Penholder, Two Ways to Create: Meet Moblique

Every calligrapher has their own way of working. We designed the Moblique 2-in-1 penholder to give you a little more choice at your writing desk, with both oblique and straight setups in one thoughtful design.

In its oblique setup, the angled flange helps align your nib with slanted lettering. This is especially useful for right-handed calligraphers practising styles such as Copperplate.

Prefer a straight holder? Simply remove the flange and fit your nib into the straight position. It’s great for upright lettering, sketching and ink illustrations, and can also feel natural for many left-handed calligraphers. Try both setups to find what feels comfortable for your hand and the work you enjoy creating.

There’s a little surprise inside, too. Unscrew the barrel to reveal a hidden compartment that fits three Nikko G nibs—a handy place to keep spare nibs close by. Nibs are sold separately.

The colours featured here are warm Mocha Crème and soft English Rose V2, with a closer look inside the original English Rose penholder.

Whether you’re practising your first strokes or exploring a new style, make a little room on your desk for Moblique.
